REGENERATING JAZZ: Intimacy, diversity, creativity.

Our non profit organization has been trying to facilitate the access to jazz music for a broad public, without any compromises, neither on the level of musical quality nor on the atmosphere. By inviting talented young jazz combos on stage, as well as known jazz musicians, Jazzolive is creating promotional opportunities for yet to be discovered treasures of the Belgian jazz scene. The audience is given the opportunity to enjoy Belgium's finest and/or newest in an intimate surrounding at a democratic price (students and unemployed enter for free, the rest pays €5). You'll surely have noticed the artwork , which is reflecting the idea that jazz should not be grey or oldfashioned. It is a genre that's by definition not a genre and thus has a quite actual chararacter in the postmodern era we're living in.

The result is a young (but not solely young) international audience, enjoying 'not-only-for-jazz-neurotics' music in a laid back atmosphere.

Just like we’re promoting the rising stars of the jazz scene, we wish to broaden our goal by inviting plastic artists you’ll be more than happy to get to know. The parallel doesn’t stop here though; you’ll notice the many bridges between the music, the plastic creations and the specific concept of the evening. Diversity within unity, unity within diversity. Wat is de vzw Jazzolive? PDF Print E-mail

De vzw JazzOlive kende de laatste twee jaar een continu groeiend succes. Alsmaar meer publiek wordt aangetrokken tot de laagdrempelige, doch kwaliteitsvolle jazz muziek die er wordt geprogrammeerd. Er wordt steeds een sfeer gegarandeerd die zowel aangenaam, intiem en jazzy is. Naast de gebruikelijke dubbele rekening concerten werd het publiek verrast met een culinaire orientaalse jazz avond (ism de Vub en Beeldenstorm), de examens van de jazzafdeling van de Kunsthumaniora Brussel, gekoppeld aan een lerarenconcert (oa. Jef Neve) en de eerste editie van de interprovinciale jazz westrijd Jazz Cat Rally (een productie van vzw JazzOlive, USA Jazzclub Antwerpen en GC De Maalbeek). Die realisaties zijn te danken aan de aangename samenwerking met het Gemeenschapscentrum De Maalbeek en het vertrouwen dat ons wordt geschonken door de Dienst Nederlandse Cultuur van de Gemeente Etterbeek bij het ons toekennen van financiële ondersteuning. Primordiaal zijn de vrijwilligers van vzw JazzOlive geweest die zich op vlak van organisatie en/of realisatie van JazzOlive’s doelstellingen telkens weer inzetten.

Qu'est ce que l'asbl Jazzolive? PDF Print E-mail
L’asbl Jazzolive a connu un succès croissant durant les deux dernières années . Un public de plus en plus nombreux est attiré par un programme de jazz accessible et de grande qualité dans une ambiance agréable, intime et jazzy. Outre les “concerts doubles” le public a pu découvrir une soirée de jazz oriental ( en collaboration avec la VUB et Beeldenstorm) les examens de la section jazz des humanités artistiques de Bruxelles et des concerts des professeurs, (e.a.Jef Neve) ainsi que la première édition d’un concours de jazz interprovincial Cat Rally (une production de l’asbl JazzOlive, USA Jazzclub Antwerpen et GC De Maalbeek). Ces réalisations ont vu le jour grâce a une fructueuse collaboration avec le centre De Maalbeek et l’appui financier octroyé par le service de la culture flamande de la commune d’Etterbeek . La collaboration des bénévoles de l’ASBL qui se sont impliqués tant dans la préparation que dans l’organisation des événements était essentielle pour la réalisation des objectifs de l’ASBL JazzOlive.
