The second edition of the Jazz Cat Rally will take place in JazzOlive, GC De Maalbeek (Etterbeek, Brussels) and the USA Jazz Club (Antwerp) On one hand this contest is helping young jazz talents by creating means of production and promotion. On the other hand it is stimulating the interprovincial exchange of jazz. At the same time the audience is part of the privileged group of people witnessing the rise of these young stars. The combos can win studio time, a concert in the USA Jazzclub Antwerp and cash. The 2007 edition was a great success, let's make it even more spectacular in 2008!

The Format: every combo plays three compositions, one of which written by a band member, one interpretation of an (imposed) Belgian piece (tba) and one free choice.

The jury: will be composed of Dirk Van der Linden (USA Jazz Club Antwerp), Serge Dacosse (www.sergedacosse.com), Jempi Samyn (jazz journalist), Georges Tonla Briquet (jazz journalist), Henri Vandenberghe (Brossela) and Tim Gubel (Jazzolive). The audience also has the right to vote.
