Samira Lourini’s artistic pathway has led her to the ceramics she will be exposing in our brand new exhibition hall. The work of this Berber woman could be described as an expression of traditional Arab art interpreted through a Western looking glass {e.g. calligraphy}. Samira’s latest work, harvested on a common ground of two cultures, centralizes the concept of the ‘opening’

21.30h Belaïd El Akkaf Trio {Marokko} & Bart Maris

El Akkaf stond aan de oorsprong van de renaissance van de berbermuziek in Marokko. De muzikale kruisbestuivingen waarmee hij zijn faam in de Europese muziekwereld verworven heeft, worden in een unieke combinatie met Bart Maris aan het Jazzolive-publiek gepresenteerd. Muzikale globetrotter Maris speelde eerder al met Marc Moulin, Magic Malik, Zita swoon, Jaune Toujours,… Dit concert kadert in ‘de Maand van de Solidariteit’ van de Dienst Internationale Solidariteit van de Gemeente Etterbeek.
